Courtship

We go through a lot in our own courtship dance, which we often liken to the displays put on by birds. But really, we don't hold a candle to them. You have to watch this video on birds of paradise that is so close it verges on the intimate, it seriously makes you feel like a peeping tom! They puff up their ridiculously gorgeous plumage and cry out, trying to see and be seen in the dense tangle, and it feels like a call of loneliness asking for a soulmate. I kid you not. I hope each and every one of these magnificent boys finds love. And us too.

And you think we human women have to go through a lot to get gussied up!
