I am actually a great observer of Equinoxes, those days when everything balances on the axis of the earth—but I forgot to say it anywhere. On that day I noticed that the magnolias had exploded into bloom. How is it that every spring it's like "tiny bud tiny bud tiny bud BLOOM!!" with a bang and a riot of leaf and flower. Is there a moment that always happens in the middle of the night? Do the buds whisper to each other and giggle about the trick they're going to pull on us?
