I know this seems ridiculous but...

This emailed card from National Grid gas company actually made me feel quite nice. The design is terrible—the photo kinda pretty but nothing spectacular—and yet...

I think what touched me was the wording. Those winter roads are dangerous, I do wish for a safe and happy season for us all. Do I believe some member of their corporation was particularly thinking about me and my family? That they are actually contemplating our feelings rather than sending this out as a general marketing tactic? I guess that maybe, just maybe, I do.

And from all of us here, myself, Paul and Gen, we are wishing you and your family a safe and happy year. This is no marketing ploy, we do truly mean it.
